Program

General Schedule Overview
Friday morning and early afternoon are setup time. Volunteers will be welcome!

We plan to open the convention's registration desk and the con (hospitality) suite at ~3:00 pm Friday, and host a few program items in the late afternoon.

Main program will begin Friday evening, after dinner. Neil's long Anansi Boys reading will probably also happen on Friday night.

Program panel discussions and presentations, as well as signings and readings, will be going on all day Saturday (10:00 am - 6:00 pm). We'll have a dinner break, then the CBLDF Auction on Saturday night, followed by the Masquerade Ball until early Sunday morning.

Program will continue on Sunday morning, and into the early afternoon. We expect the last program item to end ~2:00 pm Sunday. Then, we tear everything down and pack it up to move out of the hotel, with everyone who's around and willing to help!

About the Program
We're developing discussion and presentation topics for the convention program. Suggestions are welcome--please email them to program@fiddlersgreencon.org. We're planning two tracks of panel discussions, each panel being 60 or 90 minutes long, on various aspects of Sandman, storytelling, myth, the creative process, and comics and other literature. There will also be readings and autograph sessions, and other opportunities for members and guests to meet each other and share ideas.

We'll post more information about the program shortly--watch this page!

Participants: Anyone interested in participating in the Fiddler's Green program, please send us an email describing your background and interests, to program@fiddlersgreencon.org. (Please note that we can't promise a place to everyone interested.)

Academics: If you've written (thesis, dissertation, or articles) on some aspect of Sandman, comics, or another topic related to our program, and you're interested in engaging in informal discussion of your premises and conclusions, please send us an email with a brief summary, to program@fiddlersgreencon.org, so we may consider what panels to seat you on.

Educators & Librarians: If you're interested in participating in an open workshop on some topic(s) related to using Sandman and other comics in the classroom, or supporting graphic novels in school or community libraries, please send us an email to program@fiddlersgreencon.org. We're looking for workshop topics that are relevant to current situations, and to know how many people might be interested in participating.

A Note to Parents: Sandman was written for mature readers, and Fiddler's Green is a convention focused on Sandman. Program and events at Fiddler's Green will be oriented towards a mature membership; please keep this in mind when considering the attendance of young or school-age children.
